It’s deplorable how much attention the media and people generally give to youth and physical beauty!
Yet staying good looking isn’t simply a matter of appearance – you have to feel good, in order to look good. These are some tips Ink Idiot can offer you from other people's experience:
1. Workout.
Try anaerobic exercises (like sprinting or some sort of High-intensity interval training) – they’ll not only make you look good, but will also help you stay healthy and good looking longer.Aerobic exercises such as jogging is preferred over weightlifting – If you don't want to look like meathead.
Well, jogging is still good to shed a few pounds, but as it would turn out, exercises like weightlifting or sprint swimming prolong our telomeres (caps that protect our DNA), and we need long telomeres to stay healthy and good looking as we age.
Adjust your exercise routine accordingly and see how your body reacts by having your telomeres tested every 3-6 months.
Mix in some cardio workouts: as I said, cardio burns fat and is also good for the heart.
To exercise more effectively, switch between different types exercises. By changing exercise routines, you’ll train new muscles every time, and burn calories more efficiently.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing exercise, try Yoga or Pilates. They’re not only good for the body, but also for the mind and soul.
2. Eat healthy.
Eat plant-based food at least 2-3 times a week. Eating fruits and vegetables not only helps digestion and cuts out fat, but is also good for your skin.Add natural supplements.
Avoid fried food, processed food and processed sugar. The sugar contained in fruits is more than enough!
Consume healthy fats, like Omega-3 fatty acids, to strengthen your bones and stabilize your mood. They can be found in salmon, seeds and walnuts.
3. Stay hydrated.
Drink plenty of water, which means about 2–3 liters per day. First of all, water helps you keep your body clear of toxins, but more than that, it revs up the metabolism, thus, helping you lose weight.Water boosts your energy and lowers stress. I think everybody looks beautiful, when they’re happy and energized!
4. Get plenty of rest.
Treat yourself to 20-30 min naps every day and try to sleep 7-8 hours per night to restore your energy after a busy day.Our bodies repair themselves while we sleep, so getting enough sleep is directly connected to looking good.
I recall reading somewhere that dieters who sleep well end up losing more fat.
5. Maintain a neat appearance.
Keep a good healthy posture, use sunscreen and apply less make-up (or try to use natural cosmetics and skin care products), keep your skin moisturized.Oh, and don’t smoke! Smoking not only affects the lungs, but also skin and teeth.
Mental state.
As I said before, looking good is not just a physical concept. In order to look good and confident, we have to feel that way, and this feeling comes from deep inside.Reduce stress – stress is bad for mental health, and also gives your grey hair and wrinkles. Practice meditation or breathing exercises.
Do more of what you love and be with people that you love – passion for someone or something is a great motivator, and will make you feel and look more energized.
Also, it turns out spending time with friends regularly lowers blood pressure and delays memory loss.
Do brain exercises to keep a sharp mind. Read, do crossword puzzles or Sudoku, learn a new language or on instrument.
Take classes, volunteer, explore unfamiliar areas of your own city or travel.
I hope this helps! Learn to love yourself and stay healthy xx
